A Question

A while back (one year ago? two? three?), I wrote a chapter-by-chapter commentary of The Scarlet Pimpernel for fun, when I was having writing muse problems and I found analyzing one of my favorite books a refreshing way to boost my creativity. I'm thinking of posting it here. What say you?

All righty, then! I think I'll put up the first part tomorrow, or the day after that. Once I go over it and make sure there's no errors in grammar or spelling. :D

I say I only wished I'd taken such scrupulous notes when I read it!!

The Scarlet Pimpernel is pretty much the only fictional book I've ever taken notes while reading. Usually, I read way too fast to even think about stopping and jotting something down. :D

I've taken notes through several reads, but like you, I read quickly, and it stalls my being "transported" by the story itself, so while the side of me with lofty literary pretensions enjoys note-taking, the avid reader and lover of storytelling side of me hates it.

All right, then! It's actually a rather short book, as far as classic novels go, so it might be easier than tackling another, longer book, like Tale of Two Cities.
