This is one of the few movies that I actually prefer over the book on which it was based. I think it's because the plot was streamlined in a way I found easier to enjoy.
Oh, and is it too obvious that Murtaugh is one of my favorite fantasy characters ever? I so dearly wish they'd make a movie of the second book--with Garrett Hedlund reprising the role, of course. That ending scene . . . ahhh. I'd love to see it on film! I need to read Eldest again. : )
